Changing that highlighted '42 04 46 12' to '42 11 46 12' in Division00.oob would likely fix the Russian error.

Edit: there's three references iirc.

Thank you for reporting this, good catch! There were plenty of new formations added to 2.02, seems a few anomalies slipped in at the time as well.

Btw, anyone else reading this:

The erroneous 42 04 46 12 R0021243 $ Heavy Gun RVGK BM references were at lines 2706, 2731 and 2757 of Division00.oob. Changing those entries to 42 11 46 12 solved the issue. For now.

I will try to find the reference if those Tank Divisions indeed should have had the Regimental batteries already as of April 1942. The Battalional batteries themselves exist already from January 1941, so either the Divisional (available too early) or Regimental (available too late) date is wrong.

I will provide a hot fix over the weekend as a JSGME mod.

Let us try to nail the Hungarian and Romanian data bugs then as well.

i noticed in the Hungarian army.oob

for the 3rd Army which is giving the errors of missing sub-units for July 1943 and June-August 1944

then i checked the army HQ unit in the army.oob the start date and end date is

41 04 43 06

so there isn't an army hq past those dates, so i changed the army hq unit date to match the end date for the 3rd Army which is May 1945

41 04 45 05

now im not having an error

i hope you understand.

Romania is having date issues.

1st Guards Company start date and end date is 41 07 44 08
1st Platoon start date and end date is 41 10 44 08
2nd Platoon start date and end date is 41 10 44 08
3rd Platoon start date and end date is 41 10 44 08

the rest of the guards company are like this. i dont know what to do to fix it.

guards infantry battalion level mortar group also having date issues.

infantry battalion level mortar group is also having date issues

$ Frontier Battalion level mortar group is also having date issues

the unit is starting before the platoon is available.

Thanks for pointing this out. How it works is the higher formation, in this case the Army level formation, is expecting to find its organic units at lower levels to be available during the whole time range it portrays. So indeed here, the HQ unit the Army is looking needs to be available between 41 04 to 43 06. As it is now available from 41 04 to 45 05 it fullfils this criteria.

Here, you'd need to have all the Platoons starting at 41 07, or alternatively, the 1st Guards Coy begin at 41 10. To be safe, as I don't know what 1st Guards Battalion expects to see in 1st Guards Coy, I'd change the Platoons to start from 41 07.

When you edit the platoon .oob files, are you remembering to use the -X NoEncryption option?

It's described in the linked-to Coder Diary. See the link in Post #32.

It is also mentioned in the 5.29 Encryption section of the JTCS Manual, on p. 68 or thereabouts.

In a few words: If you modify the platoon .oob files, your changes won't take effect unless you use the -X NoEncryption option in the manner described.

ok i'll try that. would that work for the east front org editor?

if i would make a scenario to play against another player...would it work or would i have to send them the new files.

i dont know if im the only one getting this error.

nobody else has responded, so i dont know if its just me.

im not trying to cheat or anything i just want those units to show up, so if i need to use them i wont run into this error.

A problem is that the -X NoEncryption option only applies to the game engine. If you launch a PBEM or other two-player game via the frontend, there is no way it can pass the -X option to the game engine. So effectively you can't use player-modified .oob and other data files in two-player games, only in solo play.

But you can do this: After testing changes to your satisfaction, you can send your modified files to the Dev Team (or post them here). We have a standing offer to encrypt user modified data files. Jason Petho says he would be happy to do it.

It's nothing personal. It works this way for everybody.

You first need to create a .zip file. Then, in the forum reply dialog, there is a 'Click here to upload' button (lower left corner of the text edit window). Click the button, and follow the instructions.
