Game Crashes

Post by grab »

Sad to say I have tried to play scenario 4/6 three times now and each time it crashes. The first time the game crashed with an error message. The next two times the game just stopped and returned to the main menu screen.
The first crash occurred running v1.00 and the other two crashes occurred whilst running v1.01

I tried scenario 4/6 again today, 12/05/17, and again it crashed.

can you re test and try without any external devices attached, so just a keyboard and mouse and monitor only, plus speakers etc

and see if it still errors out at the same part.

there's quite a few errors in the log, one from a error waking from sleep, as it's hung the system, easy way to re test this event is see if it wakes the pc from sleep, or see what settings are used by the system for rest, eg monitor or keyboard to wake or check to see if the power settings are put to sleep at a given time, no input means just that, if the pc isn't or hasn't been used by a given time, it goes into power saving mode, if a game is on while it happens, some recover, some don't and it hangs the game or program which is either in the background or being run at the time

another error is with a device and driver your using.

https://forums.oculus.com/vip/discussio ... us119b-sys

a common one this is, so if you remove the device, the external one and retest and it works without it attached, you have narrowed it down somewhat yourself.

as also in the logs, there's nothing game related to point to a game error or crash i'm sorry to say, all that's reported is system and driver errors.

updating the drivers on the sound device and well all of the M/B devices may help, go to the motherboard makers and check for bios and driver updates for the board and see if any windows 10 version are there, Date and Size: 12/04/2013 for sound is old

just playing with the settings to make it move a bit smoother in my test hardware

Image

unless you're having a issue, don't leave logging on, as just on loading the map it made a 67mb file on my test run, then alter the rest to suit a given hardware pc, for me i need it smoother so have turned more off on each turn

turn 8 on test atm, logging still on mind you, just to see if anything goes wrong, so far nothing

Image

while the logging size is getting bigger and bigger, the resources used so far haven't been high

so more of a cpu hungry type of program than pure ram alone it seems, but nothing high to shout about

Sure.
I think AGE engine needs the fastest core (nb of cores is irrelevant as it's not multithread programmed),
and the fastest and bigger VRAM (speed of GPU is irrelevant as it's not a 3D game).

speed wise for me on my test pc it's fine, and with only a 4gb mid ranged card, i'm more than happy also with it, had no issues show up as yet, so like most, it seems a combo on hardware and software installed, more than pure gaming ones atm, but if any error codes come up, the developers will jump on them and fix it asap also

another one for your system is a driver isn't windows 10 fully compatible?

Code: Select all

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/insider/forum/insider_wintp-insider_devices/gamecom-plantronics-780-in-windows-10/c29594c1-4f8e-4d2c-9edd-a8666433caa7?auth=1

last released set of drivers from them was win 8.1 only

Code: Select all

http://www.plantronics.com/uk/product/gc780-surround-sound-windows

Driver Attributes: Final Retail
WHQL Logo'd: Yes
Date and Size: 08/10/2013 00:00:00, 1327104 bytes

P4: ntdll.dll is a driver crash error, from sound related code for the game mentioned ECW and is the only game related one in the report

Event Name: CLR20r3 code is a .net framework error code

Fault bucket 129443172708, type 5 is a windows update error code

Event Name: PnPGenericDriverFound can be a USB Devices fails to configure Error code, but depends on what or when it happens, eg on load, then it can be missing, unplug when running etc, but after device is no longer plugged in on a reboot then the pc maybe loading drivers at boot still etc

Event Name: MoCFGSUP error can be a Microsoft Edge Crashes When Not in Use, eg you're using another browser

P1: Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_38.14393.1066.0_neutral__8wekyb3d8bbwe again a Microsoft Edge Crash
