The Burmese jungle is on our maps, but I would not consider this a "Pacific" war movie.

"Bridge on the River Kwai"

Ive read alot of the Allied prisoners did not like this movie as it was too soft on the actual treatment of the prisoners.

"The Caine Mutiny" one of the best acted movies even for the bit parts.

Yes. It's been some 30 years since I saw it last, but it was a good movie....GP

Halls of Montezuma

That's the one that centers around trying to find the hidden Jap rocket artillery . Good movie. Jack Palance plays a great role.

Just watched "The Eternal Zero" with English subtitles. It seemed that the translation was lacking exact meaning but is was still a intresting, different type of movie.

Away All Boats (1956): Set aboard an USN APA. Excellent depiction of late-war kamikaze attacks, and IIRC the first (one-line) speaking role of Mr. Clint Eastwood.

Too Late The Hero is one of my favourite. Got the dvd cheap from amazon years ago. I kind of like Pearl Harbour - quite dramatic scenes - FDR and the Doolittle Raid.
