Design Decision: NATO names or native names?

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

Design Decision: NATO names or native names?

Post by CapnDarwin »

As work is progressing on Southern Storm, I would like to know if we should show weapons and units by their native names versus NATO call signs. For example SA-13 Gopher versus 9K35 Strela-10. We don't want to try to deal with both if at all possible. Thanks!
OTS is looking forward to Southern Storm getting released!

I think that NATO names are more known for most of the gamers. Other option would be to put in the description of the weapon/unit, below the nato name their native name.
