Turn 13

The Japanese and Americans have eliminated all known Italians from the contested area where they have been fighting.

Turn 16

Things are going slowly, but the Fascist Empire is being reduced to its core, and this core is more defendable. At least three nations are planning assaults on these aggressive Fascists.

Turn 19 28 June 1934

The Union does not want to get involved in any wars between the human played nations, so we have decided to break our alliance with the Eastern Empire. All parties have been sincerely re-offered peace. If war occurred between our allies we could have battles break out between force sharing a hex, and confusion would reign.

We see the Republic invasion of the Fascist Empire's homeland is proceeding. We intend to invade also, but preparations are taking longer than expected.

The landing on the Fascist Empires Western Island, the Capital of the Fascists Palermo is to the South West of the landings. The terrain to the south of the landing is low hills and jungle, with no road access, the engineers have finished the port the next task will be to push a road south to connect with the islands road and rail network. There are substantial fascist forces on the islands so far the dense jungle to the south has provided some protection, as the Fascists are unable to bring heavy equipment to support attacks on the port and landing area's that will change when the building of the road commences.

Are we like late Rome, infatuated with past glories, ruled by a complacent, greedy elite, and hopelessly powerless to respond to changing conditions?

Union HQ

The Union invasion fleets are still forming up. We are very impressed with the Republic's assault as we know how hard it is to invade.

The Fascists have made contact with with the edges of the Republics Beach heads, the landing force was more than trebled this month, with three additional Divisions landed as well support artillery. The one thing the Republic forces feared has not yet materialised Fascist air power.

Turn 22

The Union amphibious forces are offshore the FE homeland. Lecce is well defended so we will be landing away from a port.

As the French forces feared Fascist air power has made a appearance over the small temporary port build by our engineers, the only French air cover is a small force of carrier based fighters on station of the island, in addition the Fascist forces on this relatively small Island are estimated to be some seven thousand power points, that is stronger than the entire armed forces of other major powers in the region, this will be no cake walk.

Casualties mount from the fascist air attacks not fatal at the present time, and with the fascist aircraft factory now within range of The Republics artillery at least their ability to produce more air power is being curtailed, a battle did rage around the aircraft factory but the Republic's forces were repelled for now.

The Italian aircraft factory and its attached airbase were captured stopping what was costly air raids on the Republics forces, the next objective is the Fascist capital of Palermo.

The Union has built port facilities to support the invasion of the Fascist Empire homeland. We expect a big contribution from our ally Nippon there soon.

1934 September

The strength of the Fascists is proving to be worse than feared, with only 4 Full strength French Divisions landed, and holes being plugged with Ad Hoc formations of infantry and HMG squads. The Republics navy are causing havoc to fascist shipping as the French forces have cut the arterial road and rail connection along the centre of the Island, the Fascists are being forced to ship supply along the coast. This is causing tremendous loss to merchant ships and supply.

26 September 1934

The Fascist Empire response to the Union-Nippon invasion was handled, and we are significantly stronger now. The Fascists are faced with the assault of the Republicans, our invasion, and soon Nippon, ally to both the Republic and the Union.

The aggressor nation, the Fascist Empire, will be defeated, and peace will return to our world.

October 1934

The Republic doubled the number of full strength Divisions on the Fascist Home Island, two of the four full strength Divisions pushed towards the fascist capital getting a view of the defences that look surprisingly light. The bulk of the Fascist forces seem to be East of the aircraft factory and are now isolated from the capital.
