Ship Withdrawal - National Home Bases

Post by ReadyR »

Is there a list of National Home Bases for purposes of ship withdrawal. I get the off map withdrawal procedure...but am floundering a bit racking up penalties because, if off map is too far, I can't identify which bases to send my ships to be withdrawn.

Many thanks

By the way, is withdrawal from any off-map TF still valid as per tm.asp?m=3837345
Or it should be port only? I can't withdraw my off-map ships enroute

I think it's port only in all cases. I don't think I've ever tried to WD en route off-map though. It's a good question. The devs said many times that the WD mechanism, the patch changes, were aimed at making it hard to game the system.

Thank you, port only it is then.
Although there is no space for gaming the system with TFs between off-map bases ) And the game has ways of differentiating those from on-off map TFs

I think most or all of the gaming comments related to the damage levels. Previously, or in WITP (don't recall there), players would treat withdrawing ships with distain, running up huge damage levels for "free", and then bipping the ship away with no need to plan for the consequences.

Note that I'm not sure about off-map ports only. I would think yes, as the same logic--requiring careful planning to WD--would operate. Else getting to any and all map edges would be a get-out-of-jail-free card. But you should test it. If it works it a good thing for you.

Also, as well as national bases some size 9 ports that are far away from any enemy airzone can be used in scenario 1 or anything built from it.

Colombo, query Cochin (never tried it), Perth, Melbourne, San Diego... BUT NOT Pearl Harbour.

As I know it it's any level 9 port, any off map port, any national base. For on map, ships may not be on fire, total damage may not exceed 99 and no individual damage type (system, floatation, engine) may exceed 50 and in all case air superiority is required. I have read somewhere that ships can be withdrawn from off map TFs but have never been in the situation to try it.

As you say PH doesn't fit the bill as it can only be built to a level 8.

Not sure that works anymore. Deleted in a patch, possibly.

There seems to be little consensus on exactly what the rules are for this feature, which at times can be important! Alfred where are you when you are needed!
