Hello;

I've just opened your AAR;

can I ask you, how did you get entangled with the russians so early in the war?

No problem adarbrauner. This is the second game that I have matched up against Todd. First time around we decided to activate the Russians at the beginning and see how things went. For the most part the Russians in that game did little and I for my part overlooked the occasional transgression. They finally got involved at the death. This time around we activated the Russians once again. This time Todd has tested the waters regularly. Stalin makes demands (which he did last game and found that the Japanese would acquiesce) which the Japanese have simply ignored. Main demand has been to stop making deep drives into Chinese territory - I've ignored that and kept on going regardless. Plenty of overflights by Soviet recon has been going on for the better part of the last year - once there was even a sweep by a squadron of Migs. Soviet subs taking shots, and occasionally sinking, my merchant shipping. So in the end, given how well the war has developed for the Japanese, it seems fairly logical that the Japanese would eventually take to the field. Who knows just what communication has been going on with the German allies who now seem to be in a spot of bother the Soviets. In the end it was my decision to pull the trigger. From a game point of view the above is the justification and personally it is a great opportunity to learn for the two of us. I'm about 2 weeks shy of actual events but Todd has already admitted that he is in a quandary over how to react which I take as being some vindication of going in and forcing a match up. If nothing else it is going to be entertaining.
