Not a very strong CAP over Pearl.

26 more 800 KG were dropped on this run, with the Narwhal eating one. I sure hope she is gone, as the Allies are known to be studying putting infantry on SSTs.

No Val strikes on the two Allied task forces near the KB...but at least a half dozen reported hits from search planes.
More Iboat goodness.

RE: The Dutch are the first to Die!
I just want to really convey the steps the Allies are taking to cram fuel on their ships. Some might have escaped without pausing to load up with fuel.
I think this is a good tactic from the Allies. Load with fuel to deny its capture. Most of those ships will be sunk anyway so why not load them with stuff to deny to the Japanese.
Nice second strike on Pearl. Flak does not seem to be bad at all.
Those maps are really nice. China looks lush and ripe for pillaging!

From a level 1 port with almost no supply, 1 AD reloaded all of these destroyers with op points to spare. Full load of ammo and torpedoes for each destroyer.
The power of an AD![:)]
Sure beats sending them back to Cam Ranh Bay or Formosa. Fuel on the way too, plus the AD will use her remaining op points to refuel some this turn.

Miri Invasion in good order. Follow on wave includes an IJAAF COY support unit and a day later a IJAAF Battalion. A little longer for the AA to arrive, unless I divert a ship or two from the Palembang invasion.

I have lost 5 Kates yesterday...3 to ops, and 2 to flak over Pearl.
Maps are Pacifica Bellum mod...very pretty and easy to see.

I try not to do that. Way too gamey......ORIGINAL: Lowpe
Headquarters:
A very important unit, and I take pains to use them.
There are 5 command HQ to start. Their normal range is 9 hexes, but if a Corp Army HQ is within range of an attack/defense base then the command HQ range is doubled to 18. A very useful number.
This allows the use of General Defense, and Kwantung to be used against the Chinese.
The 5th fleet normally goes to Luzon and helps with either Clark, Manila or Bataan.
So you can get all 5 Command HQs in action against the Allies, and if the dice gods ever cooperate it is a magnificent force multiplier.

A good raid.
Kudos!
RE: The Dutch are the first to Die!
I am in no particular hurry for Luzon or Mindanao. I certainly don't want to lose my great pilots here to CAP traps.
The destroyers at Taytay will strike out on different routes in groups of 3 and 4 seeking to sink, burn, or capture all enemy shipping in the area. The Light Cruisers will make for either Cam Ranh Bay or Formosa for rearming...maybe Miri as the AKE should be approaching Miri shortly.

RE: The Dutch are the first to Die!
We will jack the speed up to flank on these barges and land sometime tomorrow.
I think there are some subs operating here and will step up some ASW flights.
A destroyer squadron came and went in the night, but the DMS stayed. A much stronger heavy cruiser TF is undetected and will show up for tomorrow's landings along with the destroyer squadron.
A great squadron of Nells stand ready to sortie with torpedoes should we spot anything big here.
I was worried I would need to reinforce my landing with more troops and shore bombardment, but it looks to be in the process of being abandoned.
Next stop Mersing which most likely will come a day or two before the Palembang invasion.

Economy Notes:
No oil yet at Fusan.
I have 53K of Resources on TFs headed or docked in the HI. 13K resources headed or docked at Hokkaido from Sakalin.
8K of oil headed to HI.
0 fuel headed to HI.
9 bulldozers and 144 engineers & 18 Naval Support at Fusan.
The HI are spending stockpiles at a quick rate: 200,000 resources, 150,000 supply, 27,000 oil, and 10,000 fuel gone in four days.
There are now 31 Adens, Limas and Yusen-N shipping between Hokkaido and Ominato; and only 7 so far between Fusan and the HI; and 8 cargo and one 11,000 unit tanker between Sakalin and Hokkaido. Sadogashima has one Aden class for resources. The first resource convoy of 2 Yusen N just left Formosa with a full load.
So we are making progress & now I need to conquer!

Hunting the Herd:
An often overlooked consequence of sinking the Thundering Herd is the experience gain the ships involved get.
One encounter with 3 merchants boosted this light cruiser to a 73 experience from 65. I would have preferred it was a nighttime encounter as that will prove more useful -- until she is sunk.
All the Ammo gone except for LS and RS...it seems all ships seem to keep a reserve.
The Nagara is now at a 78 night time experience level.
