crew of UR-700 - two or three?

Post by AngrySwan »

The crew of the Soviet UR-700 is two cosmonauts in the game while Wiki talks about a crew of three

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LK-700

or have I missed something?

Hello Marechal,

Apologies for the delay, I only noticed your post today. I'm quite sure the crew for the LK-700 would have had a size of 2. The reference cited by wikipedia (link) doesn't say anything about a crew of three. The entry on Encyclopedia Astronautica [quote] says 'A crew of three would be possible on later missions after a better launch vehicle propellant utilization system was put into operation.' but at the bottom of the article it says: 'Crew Size: 2. Orbital Storage: 45 days. Spacecraft delta v: 9,061 m/s (29,727 ft/sec).', so I think it's safe to assume that the LK-700 would have comprised a crew of two. Hope this makes sense.
