I just picked up and started reading this AAR. Very interesting stuff. Your South China gambit seems to have slowed Mr. Kane down, and since he relies on moving quickly rather than destroying allied assets, he has been placed behind schedule (which is probably causing him to make some mistakes such as sailing a division on cargo ships into 5 CVs, 3 BBs, and escorts).

A question? With your newly captured 50K supply from Toyohara, how much of that could you transport into China by submarine? Is Pakhoi still available as a port or would you have to go up the rivers and run mines and air attacks? Even 250 a day would make a big difference.

Keep in mind that his wildly revved-up PDU:On airforce will be coming into play soon, and the skies will be filled with Tojos, not the wily, but undergunned Oscars. Your fighter losses and bomber losses will skyrocket. If you are serious about staying in the Kuriles, I would get some AA guns up there, so they can do a lot of the damage in the middle and late months of 42. Forcing him to buy out the 54th probably used a lot of the political points he was saving to convert every squadron to Tojos. See if you can't make him buy out another division? The homeland is looking pretty sparse without the 54th. The next one will have to come from Korea.

ORIGINAL: Olorin

The only Chinese port available is Wenchow and it's cut off from the rest of China.

Re: airforce. Tojo comes in June if I'm not mistaken, that will indeed be troublesome. But as Japan I found Tojo to be a bit overestimated tbh.

Re: PPs. If I were him I would buy from the Kwantung Army. More experienced divisions with heavier TOEs.

Technically, the Tojo comes online in September, but he will have set 5 or 6 factories to it from Dec. 7, so you will probably start seeing it in June or July. It is not the greatest fighter, but holds its own against everything that you have and wracks up kills. While the Oscar can hold its own, it will not surpass your production in kills. The Tojo will. That is the problem for the allies in a PDU:on game. The Tojo is short-legged, however, and like all fighters, performs poorly at extended range.

How in the world does Mr. Kane pull off all these games?

I agree with Olorin about the Tojo. I have seen Mr. Kane rush for Shinden, Ki94 against Greyjoy. I believe he was somewhat disappointed by the Ki94 performance, but then the game ended with GreyJoy resigning. Mostly he used Franks, Sam and Shinden.

I believed he really punished GreyJoy in the air. There is a GreyJoy AAR about it somewhere...starts with GreyJoy almost about to lose India, and ends with a failed massive attack on Singapore.

In my game mid August 42 he is using 2-3 squadrons of Tojos, so they came online in at least July.

This sounds like a super Dieppe. [:(][:(][:(]

Priceless experience for the General Stuff, but don't ask the Canadian grunts.
