Come on guys! Give Geoff a break. It's been a while since he's done a PBEM, and he needs a little time to find his groove. I have no problem with his needing to delay , as long as he gives me a couple of days to set up my 1st turn.

Besides, the reason for the delay is obvious. The trash talk, the continuous delay , the late start on starting work on the turn....it's obvious. I've got him very , very nervous. Relax Geoff. I'll be gentle. At least for a little while , anyway. [:D]

Just biding our time until the game starts... [;)]

No pressure intended. This encounter should be entertaining.

Shall we start a disregard thread while we are waiting??? [:D] [:D] [:D]

Cheers,
Reg.

(One day I will learn to spell - or check before posting....)
Uh oh, Firefox has a spell checker!! What excuse can I use now!!!

I have decided to disregard this thread until the game starts... in the manner in which any thread to be disregarded is disregarded on the WITP forums.

Roger that.

To be honest that is probably better than using something like "The Chickens have flown the Coop" because that would just get the Gorn all excited and he would leave the game and start hunting juicy roosters.

Well, it is winter here in the northern hemisphere and so our cold blooded friend is naturally slow at this time of the year, but wasn't this thing supposed to start in December?

But was there ever a year agreed upon?

In fairness to Geoff, I need to speak up in his defense. 1stly we talked about doing this PBEM around Christmas , when things were crazy for everyone. I told Geoff, no worries , we'll do it in the new year , no hurry , no pressure. 2ndly , Geoff hadn't played stock in a long time , and had been playing strictly Babes. I've never played it , and was trying to simply try to master stock. So he graciously agreed , and needed to reload stock. He ran into a lot of technical problems with updates and such , and it took a while. And of course the set up for Japan takes a long time , even if you are familiar with stock. I can only imagine trying to go back to "baseline" vanilla WITP. Just trying to get your head around that would take months of adjustment.

So a goodly part of delay probably belongs on my shoulders. Mea culpa. I'm sorry. Geoff's been a good sport about it , and I'm truly looking forward to our game. I'm not going to rush him. Good things truly take time , and I'd like to see him absolutely comfortable when we start our game. I expect it will be well worth the wait. Thank you. [:)]

The Calendar is the problem. The Gorn calendar is, well, different.

Perhaps the Gorn calendar ended in 2016, like the Mayan ended in 2012?

And gorns take nearly forever.

Good news, all my naval TFs have their orders. I think there might be a small number of troop movements for day 1, plus I need to check all the air units. I'm taking some big risks, things could go south fast.

Given the location of Japan, that is usually the plan :]

Yes, but at this point things are going south quite slowly!

Does this have something to do with the Antarctica post earlier?

OK, I don't remember what I'm doing, but I think I just sent Steve a turn. I hope I'm not premature in announcing I'm declaring war on the US and the UK. And Steve.

I saved a copy of what I believe to be my first turn in case anyone else wants to try and humiliate me more the Steve does.
