Purple industry production

The Ki-61-Ia Tony production appears in purple.

Can someone tell me what the purple color means?

It means that you can switch it to the next one in the line and have it remain R&D. If you don't do this on this turn, it will convert to production and unless you have Realistic R&D Off, you will not be able to change that factory back to R&D.
