Nice to knock off Gifu. Any idea how many aircraft factories you destroyed?
Good point, I forgot about that. That was one of the nice things I noticed about Gifu when planning the op.

I'll count up the armaments or vehicle factories (whichever it is they morph into) next turn. I didn't take a screen pic of recon there so I won't be able to tell how big they were or what they were.
No feature in Tracker to track industries by location?
Enemy industries?? I doubt it.

Imperial air power flexed its muscles in this AO, with CAP impeding our strikes against Yingkow and shoointg down some precious B-25D and escorts. Imperial death gliders made their own mark at both battle points - Yingkow and Liaoyuan - but our ground forces had such supremacy that they prevailed anyway. Both towns are secured and the rail heads at both will start receiving many additonal combat units to expand behind the enemy MLR.

3 enemy units remain with less than 15,000 troops. Most of our units will attack tomorrow; only the few with the highest disruption will hold back. The forces from Kanoya have arrived and will all attack tomorrow.

It looks like there are 14 Vehicle Assembly plants at Gifu, most or all should be ex-aircraft factories.

Our air strikes on ground forces at Maizuru to slow down Imperials trying to move east (so we can block the road on them) appear to be working but are costly. W should have two divisions in that blocking hex tomorrow with several armoured units to follow as they unpack from trains at Gifu.

Unexpectedly good results, and the 4th Marine Division just landed and did not participate. That unit will march into Akita as fast as possible, and all assigned air and naval bombardments will shift there. Another division will land at Akita beginning tonight but the armor and artillery are still a good two days out. The remaining two divisions are on the docks awaiting transport. So we will begin attacking ASAP with the three divisions, or maybe two if 4th Marine Div is still marching.

The Australians will shock attack tomorrow, because 'Remember the Effingham!'.

Most of the divisions at Gifu plus armor and artillery (the armor just arriving after the battles) will now head NE to the blocking hex from where they can head west into Maizuru, the next target. After Maizuru is secured, all available forces will convoerge on Osaka/Kyoto.

Those were the two Australian divisions shock attacking; the USMC division just arrived. Not sure where the disruption (-) came from, maybe I misread the display last turn?? Tomorrow the USMC division will attack while the others recover. More Akita prepared units will begin landing tonight.

An enemy unit from Maizuru has moved into the hex NE of Gifu that cuts Imperial movement. More enemy are behind it so our two divisions will attack at once. Massive forces will arrive tomorrow for any follow on plus the drive into Maizuru.

Sync Bug! Sunc Bug! The combat report generated by the replay is 84,297 characters long. The official combat report written by the turn is 104,645 characters long! In both versions CVE Trumpeter was hit in a night torpedo attack. In the official version the ground results at Akita were somewhat better than in the replay.

China frontier.
Our troops are moving out of Yingkow on both Port Arthur and Antung. More units are a few days away from Yingkow that will move on Anshan.

Our troops are now also beginning to move out of Liaoyuan on Changchun and on to Kirin, then Yenki. The objective is to cut off Imperial troops from the northern and eastern reaches of Manuchuria while the other spearhead finishes liberating the southwest. Units that have been recuperating at Nanking and Shanghai will rail to Liaoyuan to participate in this thrust.

Home Islands west.
Based on movement rate, the crossing from Kyushu to Honshu - into Shimonoseki - might be tomorrow. Air strkes against defenses at Shimonoseki have been fantastic.

That was the 4th Marine Division attacking alone. With 14% disruption, that division will attack again with the support of the armor and artillery which just landed. The two Australian divisions will continue recovering disruption. Meanwhile, the final two divisions assigned to Akita are loading at Sapporo, but I suspect the place will be in our hands before they land.

A large force will now move on Ominato from Hachinohe.
