UPDATE3 - coming soon

Post by Peter Fisla »

To support the Kursk DLC release, I plan to release a quick update with the following items:

Bug fixes:

• AFV Firing in Advancing Fire Segment that is still in Motion cannot acquire target
• Squad to Half-Squad casualty reduction now counts as a VP

New Feature:

• Added Support for Kursk DLC

Changes:

• Scenario Variable end functionality, when this feature is enabled in a scenario, the scenario end turn number is disregarded. Example, a scenario is set to be 20 turns. The Variable length is set to be triggered on Turn 20 and dr <= 2. This means that on turn 20 and each turn after, at the end of each turn a six sided die is rolled. If the die roll result <= 2 then the scenario will end. If this condition is not met then the scenario will continue to the next turn.

Since I'm moving my house by the end of January I don't have much time to squeeze in more items. Once I move, I plan to work on UPDATE4, the primary focus of this update will be to add target probability percentage hit feature.

Thanks

I`m totally for the percentage to hit .
I was frustrated with the PF originally , range of 3 ,I understood , but until I posted a question and thankfully answered .
I did not understand at that range I had 90% chance of not hitting.

a unit stationed in a stone building was hard cover , a unit in a wooden building was medium cover .
What does that mean to a new player ?
The stone building is better obviously , but how much better ?
Give me a percentage and I can work it out for myself .
Thumbs up for that idea :)

I am glad to hear that there is planning for the updates.

Regarding the hit and fire chance percentages, may they be toggled on and off? I don't begrudge anyone the information and agree that it helps for people just learning the game. I have just truly appreciated that I have had to go by gut instinct in TOTH.
The game is afoot!

I'm thinking to enable this feature (on/off in the toolbar) for EASY, MEDIUM difficulty and disable this feature playing for HARD and VERY HARD difficulty. What do you guys think?

Readings of previous posts suggest that a significant number of players set the difficulty to HARD and are same people wanting the percentages. Seems to me leaving it as an on/off feature regardless of difficulty would be preferred. I believe that should please everybody by giving more choices.

Agree with Hailstone, most of players play essencially Hard or Very Hard level and would be happy to have the choice of using this feature, if only to understand better the mechanisms of game.
Not everybody knows the ASL charts, and I think this chance percentages could help a lot, whichever level of play.
I'd be happy with choice ON/OFF for each level.

Agree with posters above. Make the percentage viewer a universal toggle -- either on or off, player choice, regardless of chosen difficulty level.

Thanks for all your work, Peter!

I agree with no restriction. Each player has a better choice. If someone want to play very hard with percentages, why not. Make the tool as an available option for each difficulty.
Thanks for the work, Peter.

Purchasing the DLC should be more appealing now, given that there is a concurrent concurrent update and a promise to get this percentage tooltip done as a priority.

Update 4 has the potential to change the impression of this game a lot. I'm looking forward to it!

Rico more pretty girls please, TY. Or shall I send you a photograph of myself so you can paste it 'suitably' all over the forums heheh
