Non-operational SOW Gettysburg in Windows 10

Post by wpurdom »

I bought SOW Gettysburg in the holiday sale and installed it on 3 computers.

On my work computer no issues, but that's not where I need it.
On my old home computer, the text doesn't work. This may be the compatibility problem in the thread above and I haven't tried that yet.

On my principal Windows 10 game computer, only the initial screen with the manual/play option comes up. The manual works. The sound works when I hover over play and it clicks, but nothing happens.

It's a Dell XPS 8700 with Windows 10 Pro vers. 1607, 64 bit x64 processor, with an Intell 3.6 GHz CPU.
Any suggestions?

Regarding the old computer, check the thread below:

Regarding the principal computer, do you have McAfee or Norton installed?

Thanks. I already suspected this approach would work on the old computer, and indeed it does!
Unfortunately, this is my wife's computer now[:(] so that's awkward to use.

The game exe is now whitelisted on McAfee.
So please update your McAfee and reinstall the game.
