Can Armor SU be attached for an amphib Landing?

Post by jack54 »

Hi again,

I noticed that many US infantry divisions have a large number of tanks attached... can they be used with amphibious landings? Guide says that armor divisions can't go with amphib HQ can a battalion?

While playing 'Brakeout and Pursuit' the US 80th infantry division has a tank battalion SU attached (100 armor); is that ok? so far it has 8 prep points in 2 turns.

Thanks!

edit: 16 prep points in 3 turns so it may be working.

You can assign armour support units to a infantry div prepping for an invasion co-stacked with an Amphib HQ. I also think that Armd Bdes are eligible.

Don't forget that you can attach commando/ranger units directly to an Amphib HQ and they use the special commando rules. They will look to occupy empty coastal hexes adjacent to the target hex (provided they are themselves not target hexes).
