They are Beta testing the upcoming game War of the Succession, which is using the current engine.
Also they are working on a new title not announced yet with the new engine.
I guess matrix staff can elaborate more in this regard.

there is a new game being made on the current engine, adapting the Wars of Napoleon map etc back to the European Wars at the start of the 18C. That should work well as its a return to a scale and era that the game engine is well suited to.

beyond that they seem to be bedding in a completely new game engine - be interesting to see if they use that to rework some of their older classics such as Rise of Prussia - but then I find the Seven Years War particularly interesting [;)]

It is not ruled out in any case (redoing an old game with the new engine).

I can tell you guys that starting fresh with clean code, having learnt a lot in game programming since 15 years helps enormously also [:'(]

Are any of your games going to be hands-on battles versus having only auto-resolve battles?

When it comes to code, it's always easier to start over then figure out what was done, esp. if there's little to no annotation.
