Range of 15cm SiG gun?

Post by Rosseau »

Too lazy to do the research, but how can an LMG have a seven-hex range, and a crewed 15cm siG can't even shoot six hexes?

Hi Rosseau
In ww2 many crews have just submachinegun to protect them in close combat

This is a screenshot from "Last Stand in Tretten", and the 150 sIG fires at 10 hexes.

I just checked, there is no issue with 15cm sIG33 Infantry gun, I can shoot quite far and the fire range is showing correctly...you must have had something else selected.

little bit off the conversation .
but looking at the screenshots , I can have a bit of a problem picking
out a lvl 2 hill against a lvl 3 hill.
I realise I`m an old bloke , but maybe I shouldn't have to squint my eyes while wearing
my glasses .
A color change for hills would make it more user friendly :)

In that example , I`m having trouble distinguishing colours :)
To me that is a lvl 2 hill , firing through a lvl 2 hill , passing through a lvl 1 hill to a ground target ?
I know that shouldn`t be ,
I would really like to see distinguishing colours between lvls

Yes, I was highlighting the crew and not the weapon [8|]

I'm sure this has been discussed already, but a shading option for LOS like Tiller series would be nice. Admittedly, submitting the hex entries works when planning a better firing position. I typically take my best guess, rather than input the numbers, which is probably more realistic anyway.

Not to be critical of designer choices but normal topography in wargaming maps and I think even real maps is to go from greener lower to browner higher . Which is sort of what is happening here but keeping it all greenish the way through....

I think this is so common that there is no copyright reason (ie vs ASL) not to consider shading it a little bit more easy to see; however, when playing the game the scroller tooltip reveals the height, not that this helps when observing replay screenshots.

The thing about LOS checks is that the game highlights targets easily; but rosseau is right when it comes to planning. I'm not so sure guessing is more realistic as defenders, given time, would bore sight etc..it would be more in ASL game turns as LOS checks are not allowed until the shot is taken anyway -- but that is moot in this game as shots are not wasted.
