jcax101, I already confirmed you are right, but apparently the device upgrades nonetheless, proven by the screenie from the countess above....(otherwise as "getassista" told us, this bug would be noted and busted long ago), probably a display error of some kind.[:)]

Thanks Alpha77. I'm getting caught up, and that is great to know. And I don't know what the Alpha77 stands for, but one of my favorite tours was being the Alfa 6 or Alfa Company Commander. To mess with my Company I spelled it Alpha a few times. It wasn't met with much enthusiasm. LOL.

Alpha stand for Alpha Quadrant, which is an area of space in star trek universe as well I used this name for an ex-music project of mine. Has nothing to do with alfa romeo the car or alpha the leader of wolfpacks :) The Borg invaded the Alpha Quadrant and the federation was quite hard pressed by this suprise move.

Re. the radar thingie: I hope I am right, that it is only a display bug, because I want this radar too even if it is quite weak, better than nothing. Or better than a downgrade like the IJ inf. squads [:(]

Revisiting the thread, my radars will not upgrade too. It is 9/42 now.

But Gräfin showed a pic from Oct 42 where the unit upgraded. I play scen2 no mod.
Will the upgrade hopefully start in Oct ? I have pools of the radar yup [&:] Every other condition is met too, other devices upgrade fine.

@ Gräfin: What scen are you playing and when did the radar start the upgrade? Thanks.

When the device upgrade is NOT in the TOE, the upgrade randomness seems a lot higher. Bigger base with lots of other bases nearby, Command HQ, lots of excess supply all seem to help. IE, getting the unit back to the HI and sticking it in Osaka/Tokyo will maximize the probability of upgrade. Empirically, the first upgrade is the most difficult ... once the 'log jam' is broken it seems to upgrade easier.

As reported above the device has no upgrade path in tracker (no. 1467 sound detector to -> no 1468 TaChi 13), so I wonder why it worked for others but not for me and the OP (or has OP solved the problem, if yes he should report back). Also perhaps others that play IJ in a stock scen can report ?

All my stuff updates ok as I noted already (outside the home islands), no need to transport a unit back to there. The supply/base is not the issue here. Also there are lots of IJA airforce units already in the HIs or China etc. - none of which update.

Fire up the editor and put device 1468 as upgrade for device 1467, it would seamlessly apply for the current game.
My current scenarios 1 and 2 also have this bug. I think I updated them from Andy's AI rework.

Thanks, in PBM the other player will get a warning I guess....(I can send him to this thread then to explain it)

Edit, does not work original scenario file can not be overwritten, it says need to be saved to new file, over 25
Ok, guess need to rename all the files manually...

I believe you don't need to do that. You simply need to install AndyMac ([&o][&o][&o]) scenario update patch. And your opponent does too.

Hi,

Stock Scenario 1.

Which service (Army or Navy) uses the Ta-Chi 13 (device 1468), and what units use it? Did a preliminary scan of Flak and Engineer units but didn't see it. And I only found a few Navy Base Forces (Sasebo and Okinawa) that use the Ta-Chi 6. Does that sound accurate?

Thanks,
Scott

Yes, your opponent will get this: tm.asp?m=4266305

Just for info, I edited the radar and renamed the files for scen002. But it says in the PBM game "failed" while in the normal game the issue is fixed. I mean if a new scen2 game is started it is fixed, but neither the pbm nor the other AI game save "accepted" the update.

You cannot save (overwrite) in the editor pre-existing scens. I need to save eg. to scen 26, then rename to 2.
