A New Release 'Endless Space 2'

Post by wings7 »

This ambitious new Space-4X was released today, it is in Early Access [:(] so time will tell! It certainly looks terrific! [:)]

Endless space was ok. Got a bit dull in the battles. Fighting WW1 style endless attrition combats all the time.

Hopefully '2' will be better...

I am not buying any more of Amplitudes' games. They always sound good on paper and look good on gameplay vids, but never hold my interest and I find them boring.

I think Endless Legend is great.

I am loving the Vaulters Racial quest - the whole Fallen Technology theme is wonderfully done.

Endless Space had potential but the combat was a bit lacking and the events were a bit too generic. More faction related quests and interesting "flavor" events were needed.

I'll watch for a bit before purchasing ES 2.

Your points are well taken, I'll be watching and waiting also!

I have ES2 and am having fun with it so far. Many parts are yet to be released as this is only Early Access. Here is a recent post with what is still to come:

My take so far is that if you liked EL and ES then you will like ES2. If not, then not.

I saw it, look interesting, but still the same setup as the first Endless Space. So you cant control your ships during engagement. So it like pick a card! I wasn't impress with it, but I will wait til it is on sale.

You don't control ships in tactical combat. The idea is you are the leader of your civilization so you leave that to your admirals. There are no tactical cards like in ES. Instead you pick from various tactical maneuvers. There are only three choices right now but, as I understand it, more will be added.

Sorry I mistype there, fixed.
