Eben-Emael

Hello,
Here is a scenario adapted by the original scenario of Operation Barbarossa : The Struggle for Russia.
Post Script : there is no map of the Western Europe for the description.

Hello terminatr,

thanks for your work. Did you build it from the scratch ?

I noticed the lack of a German translation - i could provide that when i get some time.

Would you mind if we included your scenario in the game e.g. from 1.08 on ?

Of course you would be referenced as author etc.

Are you planning to convert the other small maps from the OB tutorial ?

Well, thats something we have to change then. [;)]

Thanks again, great stuff!

Hello Ronald,
There is no problem to include this scenario and the following ones in the game.
This scenario is a conversion from the original "Operation Barbarossa : The Struggle for Russia" scenario.
I have "Operation Barbarossa : The Struggle for Russia" on an old laptop computer (the game doesn't work on recent computer) next to the recent computer on which I build the scenario for "Germany at war".
Yes, the German translation is missing. I could do it when i get some time (I live near the German border).
Yes, I am planning to convert other maps from OB but I do not have a lot of time at the moment. It will be necessary to be patient.

Thanks for that! Much appreciated [:)]

It will form a second training sequence in GaW like it was in the original.

Well i might be of some help here. I will hopefully find some time this week to dig out some converted versions of that stuff. If my memory serves well, those should spare you creating the maps and placing the units. Still a lot of work left though.

Ok. There is only one critical point, that if we go public with 1.08. But i will fill in all missing German texts if you could not find the time by then.

Hi demjansk,
Thank you for the compliments.
Did you manage to have a brilliant victory with this small scenario ?

Here is a new version (1.01) more historical with four whole groups and some other changes.
It is always possible to have a brilliant victory in one turn with very hard difficulty in the great majority of the cases but it is a little more difficult. From time to time the Belgian troops hold position making impossible a brilliant victory but after all the Eben-Emael fort fell only on May 11th.

The next stage is to make the game playable both side.

To add Allied mission to the game, we should have at first more Allied units. With only infantry, it is difficult. Polish units would be welcome as prelude to the operation barbarossa (with your new Panzerkampfwagen I Ausf B).
I have an idea so that this scenario Eben-Emael can be played the side allied (Belgian) just with the infantry but it is necessary to make at first a test.
I find that it is difficult to return a playable scenario of 2 sides.
PS : Do not forget to add the kalinin offensive and Bialystok 1941(good scenario).

You mean Western Allies ? Indeed there should be more equipment for them. And will be.

Yes, thats tricky indeed especially if you want to keep it historical in terms of OOB and chances. Different mission goals within the reach for each side help sometimes to solve this.

PS : Do not forget to add the kalinin offensive and Bialystok 1941(good scenario).

I will add a list of scenarios that are added to 1.08 in this forum - if i forgot anything or if you create any new ones you wish to add to that release just let me know.

Eben-Emael(1.02):
- the game is playable both sides (adding Brilliant victory for Allies and briefing...)
Image

- changing victory conditions for German: Brilliant=turn 0, Normal=turn 1, tactical=turn 3
- deletion of a German plane

Maybe that this new unit could be tested in this scenario, once the patch 1.08 was brought out :

Hi terminator,

i was thinking of giving you an early version so you could adjust your scenarios with the new units if you wish. After all you are de facto the head of QA for Gaw.[;)]

Of course that I would like [:)]
I am going to try to make two other scenarios: one with Finn and an other one with Polish but I can promise nothing (it is a lot of work)

Hi terminator,

there is an attachment to this post in which i took the liberty to translate all texts into German. It is based on the latest version you posted here.

Maybe you would like to use this one for future changes. It is a .rar file but i changed it into .zip or else the forum would not accept it.
