Strange behaviour ; jittery slider in F2
Lately I have been having Win7 random mouse behavior issues (random 1s and clicks creating havoc) so I bought a new Logitech gaming mouse today ; all seemed fine, but then in Scenario "Andromeda at the Ready" when I F2 the Andromeda (Group leader) and try to change speed, the slider jumps all over the place randomly.... first I thought it was my PC, then, on Pausing the game (pressing the Start/Resume button) it stopped jittering and allowed me to set an accurate speed. The Ledbury has no such problems.
So problem seems to me to be CMANO (using v1.11SR5 Build 8447.1) / I actually use Northern Inferno.
I've never seen this behavior before, so is it a) me b) computer c) CMANO ?
Edit : I suspect another program in memory, perhaps... the slider moves around, often ending up on 0, but only on certain ships... most curious, and driving me insane
Latest : I seemed to have cured it by removing (stopping) Sony Xperia Companion Service... which I was using in conjunction with Splashtop using USB connection to my tablet to view CMANO log file. Bizarre, but after 24 hours I may have found the solution. Alas no, it has started up again. Will try not to hang myself.
thanks, Roland

Hi Roland
Maybe a mouse software or driver issue? Try uninstalling any software that may be "assisting" the mouse in any way.
Is CMANO the only place you're seeing the issue?

Thanks for answering back / moral support
The previous mouse G600 logitech wired laser gaming mouse (awesome for CMANO since it has programmable keypad on the side) was emitting random signals (left click and typing 1s) to create havoc in all programs...
The new mouse, a G402 (with only a few programmable buttons) is working fine... except, for F2 mode sliders in CMANO...
I agree it must be some software interfering with the mouse inputs...
I recently installed a bunch of software that extends the display, and enables use of the (same) mouse across 3 displays.. (iDisplay, Splashtop, Synergy maybe more) so I have to check I have killed all those, and get back to CMANO after teaching tonight...
I have never encountered such a nasty computer problem as this in 30 years.
Needless to say I've run antivirus and rootkit in Normal and Safe modes... nada.
Thanks again, I will report back when I have solved it... , ciao, Roland
ps. I should add one very clear point : In CMANO the F2 slider only jumps around when running... when the sim is paused it is stable and behaves! Now that sounds local to CMANO

Seems resolved for now ; but not confident yet
Updated Nvidia GTX 970 display and reinstalled the Logitech Gaming Software Panel and drivers
It doesn't help that Win Update was disabled (since they were always trying to shove Win10 on my HD)
Running Windows Update now, but it's taking forever, probably shoving Win10 in before anything...

Nope, problem persists... happens on some platforms (ships / planes) and not others...
always when simulation is running never while it's paused. I'm still trying to diagnose the problem.
I've just noticed something else, even more bizarre...
This happens once I've gone into F2 mode (with the jittery slider jumping around) :
In the Unit Status Window on Right "Speed:" keeps changing on its own... (Manual box is ticked)
Speed: keeps switching (Creep) (Cruise) (Full Stop) (Creep) (Full Stop) (Cruise) .. right now as I type ... frequency is about one change per second.
So I don't suspect any mouse input interference now...
I'm going to run CMANO on my Surface and install it on a laptop to compare
Update : Build 839.7 on WIN10 is fine (Surface 3 Pro)

Am I being incredibly stupid though ?
Is Andromeda just station keeping ??
I am beginning to think tiredness got the better of me
It seems when I pressed D to detach a unit from Group (with Leader selected) it doesn't detach..
(but if I go to the other ship it does) then I can control speed in F2 without jitter...
Hmmm...unbelievable but I'm not sure what's happening...
But something's not right, as I can't control a group's speed right now
My next step is to Install NI onto my Vaio Laptop (similar in that it's i7, Win7, 64bit) & compare

How did the comparison go?

btw, I have run it on a Surfacr Pro 3 for at almost two years now with no issue like this.

I have noticed this latter behaviour (e.g. speed slider jumping around). It happens to me only when there is group of ships with "leader can slow down to allow regroup". Group will obey when setting e.g. Creep or Cruise defalt, but not when typing in speed manually. Slider starts to jump around and desired speed defaults to full stop. It does not happen when leader can slow down is not ticked. It also gives message where fuel is calculated in F2 window, saying "one or more speed is set to 0, cannot calculate fuel qty" when this happens.
Bit annoying when trying to give speed between creep and cruise to group of ships.

Isn't the unit on a mission?
Nevermind...saw you went on after unassigning.

Thanks I see what's going on.
2 things.
The formation is slowing so the second ship is trying to make it station. The plotted course is off. If you move it a little to the right its fine. This means its adjusting for terrain given he spread of the formation. Not great behavior but exactly a federal case either.
Added to our list.
Thanks for your help!

Ah and your violin playing is amazing!
Everybody should check it out.

I have gone through every ship on both sides on that scenario and can't reproduce it anyway.

Hey thanks for the kind words.... I don't usually do Jazz... but couldn't resist the Bossa Nova backing...
by the way, I love CMANO very much... that and DCS.... both favorites...

You sure you haven't got First Contact 1986...? the 2016 has the groups unassigned
RE: Strange behaviour ; jittery slider in F2
I tried both.
