But I am considering attacking with the Nationalist Chinese.

I really dislike the attack weakness. It makes things way to easy for Japan at this point. [:(]

100% agree. Probably wouldn't think that if I was the Japanese [;)]

Do you want me to do your moves or hand back? Happy with either - I'm just off to make me a nice cup of tea if you fancy one?

I suggest that China make these 4 land moves. See picture with moves marked with red arrows.

Western Allies air rebases.
The Whitley in Bilbao, rebase to one hex SE of Rabat. The Whirlwind in Southhampton, rebase to Bilbao.
USA unload a naval bomber to Hawaii.

July/August is guaranteed to a be a long sunny turn. In the Med, Sep/Oct will partially be as well. Even in Nov/Dec the sun might shine in the Med.
In China, consider that historically in 1944, after four years of American training, assistance and arms shipments, the Japanese launched an offensive against the Nationalists and proceeded to capture thousands of square miles in a total route, over-running the American air bases being used to bomb Japan and other Pacific targets. The Chinese took all that American aid and stored it in caves for the upcoming Chinese Civil War. They knew the USA would trounce Japan and they saw no reason to waste their energies on that inevitable result. If you play without Attack Weakness, most games will see the Japanese pushed out of China entirely and fighting a Chinese navy and air force in the Pacific, if not Chinese ground troops actually invading Japan. We extend Attack Weakness at home games to the Chinese Communists as well - the famous 7th Rte Army peaked at an historical strength of only 10,000 men during WWII, but in WiF is a counter even-up with Japanese counters representing 50,000 men. Even with Attack Weakness, eventually the Chinese have enough mass to make 1:1 attacks and steadily push the Japanese back anyway.
China is doing very well in this particular game.

The first question is whether we should pass, or not.

The only way to answer that is to work out what happens if we do and fail.
Soviets and ChiComms - not a problem
US I am guessing the same
CW and French + Nationalist Chinese. Is there anything we can do to improve the situation markedly?

CW can continue to slowly rebase air units towards Gibraltar.
Reorganize one, or perhaps two, units in Gibraltar.
And search for the German ships with the risk that entails due to the many Axis naval bombers.

Well I've slept on it - that was an uncomfortable night and I am surprised the monitor took my weight.
So what is the result of these deliberation? Well I think if we pass with all but the CW and then throw a 3 I will probably quit the game in anger.
But despite that fear, I don't think we can afford to pass with the CW. We need to re-organise what we can in Gib for one thing. If it's okay with you I would like to have a look at the CW when I get back from work and see if there is anything to suggest?
