Close Air Support

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

Close Air Support

Post by Grubwurm »

Hi,

Just learning bought it on Steam.

I having problems with close air support and hasty attacks - doesn't seem to be working.

I do hasty attacks and no close air support esp. in the velikie luki.

Yet in the tutorial pdf it says that it should be getting attached close air support.

Am I missing something?

TIA

Check the Air Directive. GS should be "on" and provide sufficient air craft for task.

And reduce the "percentage required to fly".

Also my mistake around Velkie Luki was putting my airbases in swamp, rough etc where they do not work.

I was just trying to repeat the hasty attack in the tutorial. Even giving the soviet side over to the comp control didn't bring the close air support in hasty attacks. This is the initial turn one attack that I am referring to.

I had GS on it prob was the % to fly have not tried to test it out yet.

Time is fleeting and had other life things keep taking me away from it.

Also worth checking ammo and fuel totals at your bases, night mission settings of units etc.

Ok I'm playing Road to Leningrad as Germans 1st turn do 4 hasty attacks and only one gets any close air support.

What am I doing wrong?
