I like the second article. I think doing a simple yet realistic logistics system for a boardgame, where you can't use huge computational power/memory of the PC, is even more difficult. And Zucker's operational games are amongst the best in this regard.

Very good article sir. I think you covered the topic well and have nicely captured what makes this game different concerning logistics. I agree, this has become the "Gold Standard" for operational games.
