Vietnam - TOAW and FPC at some point...

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

Vietnam - TOAW and FPC at some point...

Post by Mad Russian »

I released a scenario for the entire Vietnam War for a computer game some of you may have heard of 'TOAW'.

The scenario is called 'Boonie Rats' and I released it in 2003.

At some point all the research that went into that scenario will produce a wealth of scenarios for Flashpoint Campaigns.

Good Hunting.

Does this mean a Flashpoint Vietnam game is being planned?

Yes, of course.

Just as there are India/Pakistan, Falkland Islands, Arab - Israeli Wars, WWII, Formosa/China, Korea past/present/future...etc...

We are looking at a lot of different times and theaters for the series. That's not something we have kept a secret. All things in it's time.

This looks awesome, and would be great if we see some Vietnam action in Flashpoint Campaign engine.

As much as I love FPC and Reforged, I would very much like to see a shift to a new battlefield of sorts. Vietnam is definitely something that I would be interested in seeing.

It's not as simple as just moving to a new spot and time frame.

The series would need to be broken into a small arms version and keep the versions for modern warfare we currently have.

The reason I say small arms and not say WWII is because the Vietnam War is , first and foremost, an infantry war and not a tank fight.

That requires a different scale. One that will probably include WWII versions of tanks as well. Not sure where the cut off will end up being but it will have to have the hex scale dropped down to at least 250 meters per hex.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it......

It ALL sounds good.. I have to admit that a modern day database and something similar to 'Command live'! Dare I say 'Flashpoint Live' would be my dream...you could probably nickel and dime me to death.[;)]
