Is there a tutorial or a video of how to setup airstrikes with fighter escorts?

Hi Somi,

Not really a problem just not sure how to get escorts into the mission editor, do i move them over when i move the strike aircraft over into the mission or are escorts a seperate mission?
I've looked thru some of the videos put any that i've seen with strike missions dont use escorts.

Thanks,

When building an airstrike mission, add the strike aircraft (the ones dropping the ordinance), and add the fighters you want to escort them. With the aircraft in the list for the mission, select the checkboxes of the fighters, and there should be a button right below that list saying something like "designate selected aircraft as escorts". And that is all you will have to do, the designated fighters will escort the strike aircraft.

If you use the menu bar (where it lists all your missions), there will automatically be a separate mission for escorts. Eg 'Strike' and 'Strike (Escort)'.

Or, if you use the Mission Editor window, you assign the escorts to the normal strike mission, then select them and there should be a button or checkbox that will then set them as escorts.

Sorry if that's a bit vague, I don't have the game to hand right now.

Not sure your familiarity with the various types of fighter missions to protect a strike package, but you may also want to check the following thread for some additional details on the utility of a "close" escort:

About halfway down the thread kondor999 provides a good description.
