Multiplayer account creation problem

I posted at Norbsoft yesterday about this issue. I have not received any reply yet. So I figured I would post here too. This is the message I left in the tech section at Norbsoft's website:

Hi,

I have tried to create an account in the multiplayer tab using mitra's guide, however every name I put in I get a message telling me "that name is already taken. Please type in another name and try again". I checked the Matrix Forums and saw that mitra had responded to a guy having a similar issue, telling him that it does not accept names over 8 characters. I cut it down to 7 all the way down to 3 characters, however I still get the same message.

Is this a known issue or is something else going on?

I would love to resolve this as I have been wanting to try a MP battle with people using HITS.

Update: I got it working finally. This is now a non-issue.
