COME AND GET US
East of Mortain, France, 9 August 1944: An SS officer carrying a white flag offered an ultimatum to the beleaguered GIs trapped
on Hill 314. If they would not surrender by 20.00 hours, they would be annihilated. Captain Erichson, bolstered by the
comments of his men, declined the offer. Lt. Woody of G Company had a similar response, "If you want us, come and get us."

THe Sherbrooke Fusiliers

Post by rico21 »

THE SHERBROOKE FUSILIERS
South West of Caen, June 7th, 1944, The evening of June 6, the Allies are completely blocked. The bulk of the German armored
units were combined to hold the fixing points: the tanks of the 21st Panzer Division formed an impassable barrier for the
Canadian and British troops of Montgomery, charged to take Caen. The Sherbrooke Fusilier Regiment was a World War II Canadian
armoured regiment. Dug in, they expect the 21st Panzer Division launch a counter-attack but they don't know they are on the way
of the 12th SS Hitler Youth.

ONE DOWN, TWO TO GO
The Barrikady, 17 October, 1942: With the fall of the massive Dzherhezinsky Tractor Works, the Germans turned their attention
to the Barrikady and Krasny Oktyabr factories. On the night of 16-17 October, the last regiments of the Soviet 138th Rifle
Division were ferried across the Volga and assumed blocking positions in and around the Barrikady. Morning found the Soviets
still busily constructing emplacements and sighting their weapons when the first attack of the day burst upon them. . .

Question....want to start playing these submitted scenarios, is it as simple as downloading the file into the 'scenarios' folder for the game? Or is there more to it than that? Thanks. Ray

Pinching Patton

Post by rico21 »

PINCHING PATTON
Villers-laBonne-Eau, Belgium, 31 December 1944: Even as Patton’s 4th Armored Division fought through Assenois to relieve the
siege of Bastogne on Dec 26th, the Battle of the Bulge was far from over. During the final days of 1944, the Sixth Panzer Armee
was making every last effort to close the breach and retake Bastogne in order to give Hitler at least a small victory in the
Wacht am Rhein offensive. The remnants of the tired 1st SS Panzer Division moved down from the northern shoulder, and
placed the King Tigers of the SS Schwere Panzerabteilung 501 in support of the 5th Fallschirmjagers’ New Year’s eve attack. On
the American side, III Corps was trying to expand the corridor south of Bastogne, and the two forces met near Lutrebois.

SOWCHOS 79
Southern RUSSIA, December 8, 1942: Following the encirclement of Sixth Army at Stalingrad, Germans launched a relief effort
from their bridgehead at Nizhna Chirskaya, 25 miles from the nearest troops of Sixth Army at Marinowka. The Chir River was to
provide the left flank for the operation, and consequently had to be held. Attempting to foil the German relief effort, the
Russian Fifth Tank Army attacked across the Chir and forced its way past the left flank of the defending 336th Infantry
Division, and on to Sowchos 79, a collective farm deep in the German rear. General Balck's 11th "Ghost" Panzer Division, just
arriving in the area from Rostov to take part in the relief of Stalingrad, was detoured to attack Sowchos 79 and restore the
situation.

FESTUNG BREST
September 1944.
The Battle for Brest was one of the fiercest battles fought on the Western Front during World War II. Part of the Allied
plan for the invasion of mainland Europe called for the capture of port facilities, in order to ensure the timely delivery
of the enormous amount of war materiel required to supply the invading Allied forces.
Brest was surrounded and eventually stormed by the U.S. VIII Corps. The fight proved extremely difficult, as the German
garrison was well entrenched and partially made up of elite Fallschirmjäger (paratroopers) forces.

TITO's Birthday

Post by rico21 »

TITO's Birthday
25 May 1944.
Operation Rösselsprung (Knight's move) was a combined airborne and ground assault by the German XV Mountain Corps
and their allies on the Supreme Headquarters of the Yugoslav Partisans located in the Bosnian town of Drvar in
the Independent State of Croatia during World War II. The operation was launched on 25 May 1944, and was aimed
at capturing or killing Marshal Josip Broz Tito and destroying the headquarters, support facilities and
co-located Allied military missions. It is associated with the Seventh Enemy Offensive (Serbo-Croatian: Sedma
neprijateljska ofenziva) in Yugoslav history. The airborne assault itself is also known as the Raid on Drvar
(Serbo-Croatian: Desant na Drvar).
Operation Rösselsprung was a coup de main operation, involving direct action by a combined parachute and
glider-borne assault by the 500th SS Parachute Battalion and a planned subsequent link-up with ground forces of
the XV Mountain Corps converging on Drvar. The airborne assault was preceded by heavy bombing of the town by the
Luftwaffe. The ground forces included Home Guard forces of the Independent State of Croatia.
Tito, his principal headquarters staff and the Allied military personnel escaped, despite their presence in Drvar
at the time of the airborne assault. The operation failed due to a number of factors, including Partisan resistance
in the town itself and along the approaches to Drvar. The failure of the various German intelligence agencies to
share the limited intelligence available on Tito's exact location and the lack of contingency planning by the
commander of the German airborne force also contributed to the unsuccessful outcome for the Germans.

Wilkowischken
August 1944, East Prussia border.
In the morning, one of two Panther withdrew to refuel leaving the other alone ensure the whole of the defensive
situation. The day had dawned a long time, when out of the depression, the Russian tanks and infantry charged
the panther. Shot after shot, the threat was rejected and the second Panther came back into position. An infantry
battalion supported by four assault guns under the cover of a cornfield also tried their luck and suffered the same
fate. Both tanks defending the south of the city had broken two armored and two infantry attacks .

Pursuit from State Farm 158

Post by rico21 »

Pursuit from State Farm 158

General Situation: Near Zmiyev, Outside State Farm 158, May 1943 Today's earlier operation to clear State Farm 158
went well enough, except that the Russians were able to escape destruction by retreating into a tangle of balkas
and hills northeast of the State Farm. Unfortunately, it also appears that they have received reinforcements.
Hence, reinforced Panzer Grenadiers that earlier cleared the State Farm will redeploy and eliminate all Soviet
units that have taken refuge in the large balka and on the two overlooking hills.

German Orders: Clear out the Balka and take the hills.

Soviet Orders: Hold the territory against German incursions.

No Other Choice

Post by Big Ivan »

Trying my hand at scenario design. I'm better at Campaign Series though, but TotH is fun and challenging too.

No Other Choice: 6th March 1944, Ukraine, Russia. Pocket Breakout.

History: Elements of the 1st Panzer Army became trapped in early 1944 as a result of Soviet attacks to cross the
Dnepr River. Rather than waiting for rescue, elements of the 17th Panzer Division began operations to breakout and
reach the German lines some 30km to the west.

Russian: Squads, LMG, HMG, Light MTR, Ordnance, AFV

Maps: Three maps

Terrain: Rural with Water, Hills and Town

Scenario Length: 15 Game Turns

Victory Objective: The side with the most Victory Points at the end is the winner. Both sides get VPs for owning VP Objectives

Death at Strudanska

Post by Big Ivan »

Here is another early creation, enjoy!

Death at Strudanska: 18th November 1943, Village of Strudanska, Ukraine, Russia.

History: As the Soviets continued their advance across the Ukraine, time and again German units would counterattack
to re-capture key terrain objectives or towns. Here the Soviets have liberated the town of Strudanska and the Germans
undertook a planned assault with tanks and infantry to capture the town back.

Units Human Players (AI player units may vary)

Russian: Squads, LMG, HMG, AT Rifle, Light MTR, Ordnance, OBA, AFV

A Grim Reminder

Post by Big Ivan »

Rico, this one is dedicated to you.

A Grim Reminder: 6th April, 1944, Near Village of Tsvetovo, Western Ukraine, 4km SW of Buchach.

History: In the western Ukraine the Germans were still trying to form a cohesive line after the defeat at Korsun and subsequent
encirclement and breakout of 1st Panzer Army at Buchach. Relentlessly the Soviets kept up the pressure all along the front,
never giving the Germans a break to regroup and build defenses. Near the village of Tsvetovo in the western Ukraine the situation
became critical as the Soviets mauled two regiments of the German 123rd Infantry Division 6km south of there and broke through
into the rear areas of AG South's left flank. The only elements available to restore the situation were troops of the
114th Panzergrenadier Regiment supported by tanks and assault guns of the 10th SS Panzer moving in from the northeast.
Soon they would lock horns with elements of the Soviet 70th Mechanized Brigade holding Buchach and the outskirts of Tsvetovo.
It was a "Grim Reminder of the shape of things to come for the German Army in the east.

Units:
German: Squads, 1/2 Squads, LMG, HMG, Demo Charge, PF, AFV, OBA
Russian: Squads, 1/2 Squads, LMG, HMG, Light MTR, Ordnance, OBA, AFV
Map: Up Direction is South, Six maps, (2x3).

Terrain: Rural with Ponds, Hills, Woods and Town areas.

Scenario Length: 12 Game Turns

Victory Objective: The side with the most Victory Points at the end is the winner. Both sides get VPs for owning VP Objectives
at the end of the scenario and killing enemy units.

Scenario Designer: John M. Pirman [Matrix Callsign: Big Ivan].
