How do air units attack ground units

Fury Games has now signed with Matrix Games, and we are working together on the next Strategic Command. Will use the Slitherine PBEM++ server for asynchronous multi-player.

Do they have to start adjacent?

Hi Joe

They don't have to start adjacent as all air units have a strike range that allows them to bomb enemy units from further away, with some units like Strategic Bombers having quite significant ranges, especially once they've been upgraded with Long Range Aircraft.

You can also increase the attack range for a unit via the editor as well. If you do this, keep in mind you want to balance the scenario so that it is not too easy to win.

Specifically, you select your attacking air unit(usually based behind your lines) with a left click and depending on the range of the unit you can mouse over the target hexes to see the probability of combat results display.

The attacking units can be strategic, medium, or tactical bombers as well as your fighters and CVs, both fleet and light carriers. Their attacking strength and probability of success can be enhanced with unit experience and ground attack upgrades, although SAC, Ftrs, & CVs cannot upgrade through ground attack.

Another left click initiates the combat in the target hex and the results are applied. Depending on the unit, SAC & CVs, you may be able to follow with another attack that turn.

Ok, can I attack with 2 or more units at a time?

Attacks are sequential, so one unit attacks another unit. You can't select multiple units to get higher attack odds if that is your question.

You can attack with as many air units that are within range of the target hex, one at a time.

Try again:

Can I attack one unit more than once in one turn?

Is the game turn based?
