Supply of forward mobile forces (Axis)

Post by Aditia »

I tried to search the forum, but the search function does not seem to love me :(

I have a couple of questions about supplying mobile Corps:

- What are the good ways of doing air(field) supply?
Do you stack an (empty?) airfield with a forward unit?
Or should you stack it with the Pz HQ?
Do you fly an air drop mission to said airfield?

- How do you make sure that your Ju-52s can actually fly a drop mission?
I have had multiple turns in summer 1941 where Ju-52 groups had 0% miles travelled, but whenever I tried to do an airdrop supply mission it still said transport aircraft unavailable. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Okay, let's try this a different way :)

Does it matter what I do in the below screenshot? (edit: I know that I will have to drop fuel, not supplies..) :) I cannot find any reference in the manual or on the forum what effects each choice has here:

It's better to drop to motorized units directly.
Drop to airbase only if units are isolated and you want to distribute supplies to all isolated units in range of the base to attain airhead supply status.
Drop to HQ only if you can use nearby airbase effect for the HQ but not for the units.
Otherwise always go for motorized troops.
