Do you play in 2D or 3D?

For future games, it would be nice to which views you are playing with.

Are you playing in 2D?

Are you playing in 3D

Do you play both?

mostly 2D, 3D for closer look at the terrain I'm navigating.

Hmm, about half, but very tough to pin down now with the extra 2d zoom, I love it! With the textured 2d, I find myself more in 2d, but for down and dirty, and for a good look at the action, most definitely 3D! In fact, this is my one, well almost one pet peeve with another developers game system, lack of 3d. I know it is hard to do, hell, I make them! But, the 3d is very vital I think, being a modeler from way back, and an armor/vehicle enthusiast, 2d just doesn't fill that niche! Most definitely need to provide both, a lot of games don't, and while that means a LOT of work for me and Paul, so be it!

I play 3d, the only difficult part is highlighting the unit. Normally, I am a 2d player, but on this game its 3d. I will try 2d soon.

I play in 2d. But will look at 3d if I am given the opportunity to setup my forces.

Mosty 3D, love how it looks ... I use 2D only for "strategical" view and decisions ...
Excuse my English ... I hope is better then Your Czech ... 8-)

Hi Jason,

Have to say almost exclusively 3D. I'll use 2D only with contours on to check for river fords and lay of the land.
The old versions of Campaign Series didn't have a good 2D view so I stuck with 3D through the years.

The new CSME with added 2D looks and unit graphics improved on that issue greatly IMO.
2D in that game is pleasing to the eye. But force of habit keeps me using 3D.

Can't wait to see both views in CSVN and future modules.

Thanks
John

This is the only game I play in 3D, but I echo another poster's remark that it can be difficult to select units in 3d; actually seems harder since the patch, but maybe I've forgotten. 2D also looks good in this game though.

Mostly 3d; I like the look of the desert map and buildings. I do switch to 2d though sometimes the counters are easier to see also seems kind of nostalgic.
The mods included in 1.02 has made the choices even more interesting. (The black silhouettes wow)
Fyi I don't use the farthest out 3d view very often and these 50+ eyes wouldn't mind an even closer view.
Thanks for asking.[:)]

@warhorse, um, I mean difficult to select! [:D] To select a unit you need to mouse over it until it highlights in Purple (or whatever the color is) and then click on it. For infantry units in particular, it is pretty fiddly to be able to get the unit to highlight so that you can select it.

+1 agreed...especially selecting on map, seems like you have to be in the shaped area of the highlight as opposed to a square or rectangle. The unit panel is easier.

I play with 2D only which might not surprise anyone. However I voted "3D only" by mistake.

It was likely a Freudian slip to support our gorgeous hand painted 3D models by Mike and Paul [:)]

For actual game play, I'm pretty much a 2D Only type of guy. Although I might spend a few moments in 3D now and then to increase the immersiveness.
