Do you play against HAL or Humans?

Post by Jason Petho »

For future games, it would be nice to know how you are playing?

Are you playing against other humans?

Are you playing against HAL (the AI?)

Do you play both?

My favorites are smaller sized meeting engagements. (I don't mind anything if it's historical but I usually look for smaller stuff.)

Like most wargamers I enjoy a good armor clash but I love the airmoble aspect of the modern setting.

Good to know, good to know.

Obviously, there won't be many armour meeting engagements in Vietnam. NATO War/Cold War I would definitely imagine there will be though!

Actually I think I may enjoy airmoble and Brown water just as much if not more.Something different.

Sorry didn't mean to dominate the poll thread.[;)]

Hi Jason,

I'm about half & half human vs HAL.

When I do play HAL I tend in general to like the larger scenarios SM 7 or higher. Also like to random generate
scenarios, tweak them a bit and try them out on HAL just to see how he does. Mostly armored breakthrough or
bridgehead generated.

Against humans I'll try any scenario at least once. Outlaw Josie Wales and myself have an intense one going on right now
with Day of the Centurion. Very tough battle with close quarters tank combat in somewhat open terrain.

For campaign games like DCG more than LCG because of the randomness.

Overall mostly a WWII East Front guy who cut his teeth on Avalon Hill board games years ago. If it catches my fancy will always
checkout a new WWII game before anything else.

Thanks
John

Hi Jason,

Sorry got sidetracked, I usually liked DCG's also because the random factor involved. Linked are very cool as well, and my hat is off to anyone that spends all that time formulating the various branches!! I find myself now playing PBEM mostly, just so damn fun to play against a human, I have played the same scenario 2-3 times against different guys, and it's always different, how cool is that?!
