Quatre Bras (and Ligny + Wavre)

Forum dedicated to the Scourge of War Game set during the Napoleonic Wars. Scourge of War: Waterloo follows in the footsteps of its American Civil War predecessors and takes the action to one of the most famous battles in history. It is by far the most detailed game about the final battle of the War of the Seventh Coalition.

Quatre Bras (and Ligny + Wavre)

Post by Zipuli »

Congrats on releasing the first DLC! The battle is nicely portrayed, following the historical accuracy of the series. Once the "french sucking lake" is fixed, it's very good scenario!

Now that the rest of the roadmap for Waterloo is revealed, there's one thing that comes to mind: Hopefully these campaign scenarios will be linked into one set/campaign, where player can play on chosen side all the full battles in chronologic order, with choises/casualties/etc. carrying over all the way to Waterloo - the main battle.

Thinking about it, how great would it be to have the possibility to first fight Quatre Bras, deciding to commit the I Corps and causing heavier casualties on the Brits, then fighting Ligny and preventing orderly withdrawal, then taking a side rail to Wavre, deciding to march to the sound of guns, and in the end all this would play a role in Waterloo: Britts being a bit weaker, d'Erlon's Corps being attritted, Grouchy arriving to help, and only limited Prussian assistance showing up in time... Or the complete opposite if you chose differently or did worse in the battles?!

So thumbs up, and hopefully Waterloo will grow into a masterpiece on the campaign side as well! (Not forgetting the sandbox campaign ;-)
