I did not look at my unit strength before submitting the turn. Those of you who remember my old posts might recall that I get very grumpy when AFV and aircraft pile up in my pools. For example, I barely saw any fighters this week. I am sending fighters back to NR so I do not have to hassle with deselecting them. The Soviets can sit back and let their morale build and put thousands of front line fighter in the field come Autumn. Even though German casualties are negligible there is nothing I can do to increase the number of fighters I can deploy.

Odds and ends. Kluge went to OKH on T3. Almost all of the construction battalions are now at OKH. FBD 3 moved to Romania and PG 1 and the Luftwaffe are now drawing supply from there. Still have to mopve some support units around. I am playing with trying to get the system to move support units up to OKH for free and failing. I set XII to 0, 2nd Panzer Gruppe to 0. AGC to 0 and OKH to 9, but nothing moves up.

T8 - mud in North zone. Limited impact. Central will be the big news and scheduled for next turn. Kiev fell without even token resistance. This is the before and after supply shots.

So far a good summer for the Axis. The north looks especially promising.

On Turn 8, he yielded the left, Southern flank and paid a price. Not much happened in the great bend on turn 9 as I cleaned up the pocket and waited for fuel deliveries.

T8 and T9 in the North are just inching forward.
Hard to get fuel when the Panzers are forward, so I need to take a rest turn and gas up and refit.

T9 in the center got interesting. The before and after pictures. I fly a fair number of recon missions. Here I just kept flying more and more and could not find any reserves. Mud in the north zone on T8 and expected in center on T9. I stuck 5 corps in the sliver of the north weather zone that i already owned. They were in decent supply shape on T8 and I fly in what I could. With clear weather in the center on T9, rested and well supplied troops, and no reserves, the outcome is predictable.

The advantage of putting everything forward is the Germans do not have many attacks. The disadvantage is the attacks can be spectacular. It will be interesting see if I sacrificed those two divisions of if I can get to them in time. My mobile force will be very low on fuel again next turn. Whatever happens, the front line should move forward smartly for a couple of weeks.

Well executed, but also naughty of your opponent not to have moved back from that panzer ball if he can't create backup lines. [:-]

In the center we reduced the pocket and opened a lifeline to Rhzev. Not much fuel.

In the South I did an HQBU on the 24th. Otherwise the fuel situation sucked - and the 24th was none to good. But it was good enough. This success was a direct result of abandoning the Dnepr last turn.

T-11 in the center solidified the last two turns and punched another hole. Before (mostly) and after

T-12 - I took this screen shot after starting my turn. Good defensive terrain is frequently abandoned.

T-14 - South before the move - . Fuel situation has been horrible even with the rail unit approaching. Now mud.

T-14. In the center, another strong front line with limited reserves. Attacks are basically impossible without panzers. The line south across the steppe is strong.
