I am curious:
What do you folks use as references to know who has what?
I see someone requested to have Algerian T-90s?
Where are folks seeing this sort of data?

I used to subscribe to the IISS, but they have become to expensive.

You can get a lot by trolling the web, starting with Wiki to give you leads and following up from there. This is a good thread: tm.asp?m=3789961

I've got a bunch of older references (Jane's, Combat fleets etc) for the cold war stuff.

The T-90 is starting to make the rounds but it could be a hypothetical scenario as well, not sure where the ref for that would be.

Like Gunner said there are many dedicated media outlets and websites that cater to the defence industry. A lot of countries or companies also publish media releases or details of defence contracts. Finally the Stockholm International Peace Research Institue have a database of arms transfers since 1950 as part of their research which is available at http://www.sipri.org/.
