Bomber Mission-Naval Attck

Post by krb3 »

A newbie question in regards to setting missions for bombers. I set a bomber group of six bombers to a mission of Naval Attack, however when a ship comes within striking distance they do not attack. Am I not toggling something so they will not attack? Explanation please.

Many things can scrub a mission - weather at your base, weather over the enemy, lack of aggressiveness in the bomber force commander, lack of escorts for a strike against an enemy with CAP, forgetting to set the range for the mission, target deemed not worthy of attack by the unit commander.

Best to take a screen picture or two and post those when you have this kind of issue so the forum members can scan for problem points.

You should check if the unit has a set percentage for Naval Search (10-20%)and flies normal range (at extended range they have lower chances of engaging the sips). Also, land-based air groups are more likely to attack ships within 4 hex radius from their base.
