Chemical contamination

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

Chemical contamination

Post by HobbesACW »

Hi folks, I just experienced my first chemical attack. I assumed that any unit that is not shown as NBC vulnerable could move through contaminated areas without experiencing anything more than a readiness and morale penalty but I lost several Challenger tanks while moving through these areas. What does that represent? Units not properly buttoned up? I expected to take a readiness hit but was surprised to take unit losses.

Cheers,
Chris

Nuke and Chemical contamination does have a small chance to take out NBC equipped vehicles and I also believe if they stumble into a hex there is a greater chance to take losses. To "clean" a unit you need to get out of the slimes/irradiated hex and do a rest & refit.
OTS is looking forward to Southern Storm getting released!
