Odd error

Post by jetjockey »

I've got an odd error. This only happens on my laptop (somewhat old), but not my PC. While the game seems unaffected, the hex-sides in an area from Darwin to Brisbane to Rabaul fail to render. Any trouble=shooting ideas?

Are you playing against the AI? If you are, sometimes people have a tendency to play a bunch of turns without exiting. Sometimes exiting and restating AE can help.

Sometimes, a system reboot/restart will do the trick. Not just putting the laptop into sleep/hibernate/whatever, but actually doing a restart.

Looks like you have the makings of a Darwin Triangle there. Any ships go missing lately?

Your problem is with one of your hex map panels, WPEH23.bmp in the Art folder.

At some stage you obviously had Andrew Brown's WIF style map installed and this panel has not been overwritten when you reinstalled the standard map.

Reinstall the standard map panel and this will fix your problem.

(Edit: You should be able to copy it across from your PC since it doesn't have the problem).

Cheers,
Reg.

Thanks, you were spot on. I keep a separate install for each game I'm in and just copied the referenced file over. Worked like a charm. Thanks again.
