New From HPS

New from HPS another small but well known historic conflict. Wonder how well they sell. HPS still going after separation of Tiller.

There can't be much replay in that title. I am glad they decided to do such an obscure battle, non the less. Having a game out there if you want to experience that battle gives gamers more options.

They lost a good source of games when Tiller left. The new titles seem interesting, though; the recent ones depict battles rarely or never depicted by pcwargame developers. "Last Stand at the Little Bighorn?" -- never heard of any pcwargame showing it before... The Alamo - Victory or Death?! The Drift 1879?!

edit:

These games were created by Jeff Lapkoff.

HPS may be on to something covering conflicts, battles and the such that no other has (that I know of at least).

They will not have any competition with these games. If you want that battle you will go to them for a purchase.

And they're also getting away from Tiller's archaic UI. I have it memorized because I actually made it through 3-5 of his titles, but it needed to be retired.

Am I the only one who has a lot of trouble with their archaic online store? I keep getting redirected to the previous page after putting my credit card details and nothing happens for quite a long time. Does anyone else have this problem too?

I enjoy the Vengeance Medieval game once in a while, as it will run on anything faster than an Atari 800 [;)]

But seriously, it has a very good map, unit and scenario editor for unlimited battles. People have alluded to - and I agree - there can't be much replay value in Alamo. But thanks for the alert on this one!

Now that I've looked, it's only $20 and you're not stuck in a fort, so there is maneuver involved and you can opt for a lot more indians, etc. etc.

There's a lot of replay value to the Alamo....only thing is the outcome will always be the same. [:'(]

Rosseau, can I ask what kind of system you are running vengeance on? I'm on win7 64bit and when I tried to install the demo it froze my entire computer--I had to do a hard reboot. Had never seen that before installing any program. It sounds like you've had better luck?

I just downloaded it and played with no problems.

Win10, 3.6ghz, 16 ram, Nvidia GTX-745

Also runs on a crappy Acer laptop with Win 8.1 and who knows what video card.

If you're looking to get it, PM me and I can do a different test for you.
