Colour photo's of a Wirbelwind

Post by Muzrub »

I need some colour photo's of a wirbelwind for a 1/35 scale model.
Does anyone know of any web sites or have any photos you may have downloaded that you can email me?

Some pictures of one in the field would be fantastic!!

Thanks.

I couldn't find any color pics of the real McCoy. However, here is a site with very detailed pics of a model that took me more than a few moments to realize that it was a model:

Hope this helps!

I'm not sure if it is a model after all. You be the judge!:D

Ah, I found those same photos. It seems that's a real vehicle, however it's been repainted.

Oh, nuts! Well at least it shows how the vehicle tends to weather.

I'll keep looking. My guess is, that at the time of the war that the wirblwind was made, taking color pictures wasn't a high priority for the Wehrmacht. ;)

Great photo's..............

Thanks for that!!

I think these photos are as good as its going to get when it comes to finding some snaps of this little beast.

Now all I have to do is work out what to use to apply the Zimmerit coating, does one burn it in or apply something. I have yet to do such a coating so if anyone knows please inform me.

Once again thanks for the help.......

Here is an article that discusses methods for applying zimmerit coatings to models:

Thanks for the website.

I saw another article about zimmerit a while ago and it basically said that you use a hot tool and push into the area that needs the coating.

But I like the articles idea better.............

Once I have it done, which will be a little while yet I'll let you know how the zimmerit went.

This method should really add some realism to the model.

Thanks agian!:) :) :)
