Alternate Method to Display Setup Hex

Post by snowbird »

I sometimes find that the numbers for the German setup hexes blend into the background. See the attached screenshot as an example of how the hex can be modified if desired so the number is clearly displayed. Food for thought ...

See my message below with multiple mod combinations with setup hex modification.

I would certainly appreciate this mod. The zone numbers are very difficult to see, and my vision is fine [;)]

I will upload the mod tomorrow. I have now modified every nationality setup hex for easier viewing for all the mods I currently use. I am thinking that I will create a zip with multiple terrain file combinations that contain elements from the uploaded mods. This will include all the mods I am currently using.

Quite a bit of work when you include mod compatibility. I use Richie's ASL mod, but nice to change it up every once in a while. I still prefer the vanilla terrain though.

Really sucks that all of this stuff is in one single file. Like I prefer VASL counters, default terrain, custom markers and now this setup hex overlay. Would really help things if all image files were stand alone files. That would really improve modding.

Totally agree. The graphic elements need to be split into multiple files for easier modding and easier future expansions. A bit of a pain right now.

I have attached terrain files containing multiple combinations from the existing ASL mods with a few of my own modifications (hakenkreuz and setup hex mod). Multiple versions of terrain are included. The black SS counters were corrected so the underscore was removed under the first number.

The file is big so had to split into four files. See the thread below for the remaining files. Enjoy!
