None of those things are free for the taking. The island countries of the Pacific consider war artifacts abandoned there as part of their national heritage and most have laws against removing them. Some have been recovered from those places, but as time goes on it gets more and more difficult to get permission to recover those artifacts. There is a book called Chasing Warbirds about the industry in collecting bits and pieces of WW II aircraft. The only people in the game are wealthy with the political skills to schmooze politicians as well as afford the equipment to get those planes out of the places where they were abandoned.

All the easily recoverable (politically and technologically) aircraft and tanks have been recovered at this point. There are even some abandoned wrecks in the US that can't be recovered, though most have. There are a lot of pieces left of a B-17C that crashed in the Sierra Nevada mountains in California that are still up there. Many warbird collectors have tried to get permission to recover it, but the Air Force refuses to allow it. From what I've read, for people who are experienced back country hikers it isn't all that difficult to get to and recovering the parts with a heavy lift helicopter would be feasible.

Recovering and restoring WW II equipment is a rich person's game. Paul Allen, one of the Microsoft founders, is one of the biggest active players in that field and he has a fairly extensive collection of recovered and restored aircraft in Everett.

There are some aircraft in the Colorado mountains as well. You have to know just what in heck you are looking at, and where they are, but there are several up there.

Need at least a dozen people to keep it good shape. Not enough interest. So sell it to someone who can.

There are a lot of sloughs nearby. Step out the gate and your waterfowl hunting. Great Walleye fishing 15 miles away. Some deer and moose. Not many on or land. But lots of ducks and geese. Some upland game. That was the intended use for the place, a hunting cabin/lodge. Sigh. Shame to have to give it up.[:(]
