WitE DLC on Steam

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

WitE DLC on Steam

Post by iPhoneAppz »

I have War in the East on Steam. I'd prefer to buy the DLC on Matrix rather than give steam a 30% cut. I want to support Matrix. Anyway, is it possible to buy the DLC from Matrix and use it with the Steam version of the game?

You like spending more than you have to, okay. Why not support a charity of needy people?

Yes, you can move save games between the two by finding the Steam location where it saves the Steam-version games.
Copy and paste it to your Matrix saved location, and it will open just fine.

DLC, I cannot speak to. I know I bought WitE from Matrix and then I was able to activate it for free on Steam. I don't know whether that would be a problem for DLC though.
Fall 2021-Playing: Stalingrad'42 (GMT); Advanced Squad Leader,
Reading: Masters of the Air (GREAT BOOK!)
Rulebooks: ASL (always ASL), Middle-Earth Strategy Battle Game

Not sure what you mean. It's the same price. But, when a publisher goes through Steam, Steam takes 30% of the sale price. So, I'd rather pay Matrix $15 and they get the $15, then pay Steam $15 and Matrix only gets $10.
