Changing sides: hexes and troops?

Post by Dili »

What is the best procedure to change say Vichy troops to Free French troops. I guess since the hexes are initially Axis owned i can't just make disappears the Vichy units and make appear same Free French units in same places i think since the hex is owned by the other side.

Any idea how to handle this?

Just a WAG - in a port hex, you could withdraw the Vichy troops on Day x and create an amphib TF that "spawns" the next day in that very hex with Free French troops. With proper destination setting of the TF the Free French LCUs should land and capture the base for Charles de Gaulle.

I've never tried this but you can go to the editor and change to Free French if that option is available under Nationality.

When the game starts the Free French units will automatically capture the Vichy hex if no Vichy units occupy it too.

If the base is axis controlled allied reinforcements will not appear in the hex....GP

Well, that's a shame if the garrison switches sides.
