Newbie - UI

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

Newbie - UI

Post by gbaby »

Love Command (CMANO), and saw CMANO developers praising Flashpoint, so I finally purchased on Steam. Was very glad I did, Flashpoint is exceptional. Several scenarios into it I knew I was hooked on its game play and structure. Outstanding job. Glad to hear further work is in progress (Southern Front).

One thing I love about CMANO is its window based design. I noticed Flashpoint has this, but not breaking out sub/new windows. Like being able to take the TOC Diary/Subunits panel and setting it elsewhere. With three monitors and lots of desktop space, especially on the horizontal, I would love this kind of feature to support players with multiple monitors.

Not to say the UI of Flashpoint isn't excellent, it is. Just would be nice to spread things out!

But I'm not going to end with a "wish the game did this" comment. I'll end just saying I love the work the developers have already done with Flashpoint and hope future releases continue coming.

Thanks

Also late into this game. Took me a few months to get into (getting old). But really enjoying it now that I have.
A very well made game and far better than the first version that I played many years ago and didn't really enjoy.
If any old timers tried that and felt the same as me - this new version is certainly worth a look.

gbaby and hobbes, thanks for your comments.

gbaby - look to the next edition, Southern Storm, to have movable Windows.

Hobbes -- I am one of the old timers from the original. I enjoyed it too but it had its weakness. FPC sought to address those weaknesses
