National Moral Changes

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

National Moral Changes

Post by VigaBrand »

Hi all,
I want discuss an idea with all.
My idea is, that the soviet will have at any time 50 NM.
German moral could be decreased normal (like before the 1.08 changes).
The reason is, the soviet side get stronger because they could organise his forces in powerfull corps. The tank and mech corps gets in the late war a moral bonus like the germans and you get a moral bonus from guard status.
You could let the +5NM for the cavalery corps.
And maybe there will a Moralbonus from +5 for Guard Armys (like it was in old versions?)
The switch of power will not be that hard as it is now and maybe the late game will be more interesting.
The soviets will be stronger because of there corps unit, artillery divisions, more guard units. The germans will be weaker because of moral decrease and lack of manpower.
Will this be an interesting idea and is that modeable?
What is your opinion?

Yes.
Only changes are the Bonus for tank/mech corps units later (as now).
And will change the Guards army bonus to +5NM for units under guard army.

The problem I fear with such a change is that with the much larger than historical/high EXP German army esp coupled with the new counter-attack/withdrawal combat rule it will make Soviet offensives/breakthroughs almost non-existent.

You should be noticing it in your game vs Loki that your losses from Soviet attacks are a fair chunk lower now than pre-patch. Im really worried this will esp make the Germans super powerful in the early game when they don't take as many losses over the first winter....when losses from the first winter are already fairly low for the Germans compared to historical.

Don't forget, that the soviets had more Moral in the first stage of the game and that with the new air rules you are able to reduce there strength, if you wish.
