Looks like, in that terrain, getting the 14th Division there won't help. Just more troops to get smote and retreated.

I'm guessing the CAP was hell on your naval search and they didn't see squat.

None of the coast is holdable. I can't mount any credible opposition on the sea or in the air.

My defense rests upon x2 or x3 terrain because I have no air force or navy so to speak.

The troops in Vietnam for the most part will be surrounded and cut off..to fight at 1/3rd strength and starve - that is till Jan 1 1945 and the expected surrender.[;)]

Still holding below a 2-1 allied AV; if not this month, then next for sure

Hmmm your opponent seems to pull off pyrrhic victories .. do not be so sure .. [8D]

You have pulled off quite a turnaround extending this game. More so .. you have taught all the AFB's
the evils of an early "Hokkaido Hurricane" or invasion of the home islands [&o]

I disagree. This is showing the evils of an early "Hokkaido Hurricane" without proper strategic focus on just knocking Japan out of the war, or on mopping up all the VPs elsewhere.

Did the invasion at Nagoya really get him more VPs than if he'd captured Luzon? What about Shikoku AND Nagoya? I'm skeptical. Manila is an enormous bag of VPs.

It's about time!! He should be invading lots of clear terrain bases all the way to Shanghai area in the coming months. This will close off your overland supply and put your troops in jeopardy. Next, I would be having a few TFs out of Saigon bombarding your bases up and down the Vietnam coast to raise disruption of your troops and make your life there even more difficult. [:D]

I have had the pleasure of learning in this theater recently. This is not how I did it, but my opponent also didn't have the coastal bases fortified at all. I started at Soc Trang, then CRB - which failed at first, so I landed at Quinhon and liberated CRB that way. It's coming down around his ears now. Might've taken 3 weeks.

The challenge here as the Allied invader is to not outpace your logistics train.

Whatever Lowpe is doing that is making his opponent delay, it's working, I suppose.

In the deep dark night, of this momentous night, Japanese submarines do good work.

During the early morning, Nagoya is bombarded several times -- including the faux amphibious invasion bombardment exploit. Haiphong is plastered too, but the CD guns hole a ship or two.

Then comes a half hour of heavy bombing. Haiphong, Nagoya, Cam Ranh Bay get 90 percent of the hundreds of airstrikes.

Ouch.[X(]

8 Franks, eight[8|]; what shell the IJAAF has become, down a halfdozen warhawks in our only offensive air mission that went off.

Before I get to the climatic battles of the day, here is a look at Allied Ship losses (collisions were done by speedy MTBs I think):

Haiphong falls to a shock attack; however the Militia doesn't retreat so the Allied Landing is still landlocked. Non-static troops retreat to Hanoi.

Cam Ranh Bay holds.

The rail lines in Vietnam along the coast are crowded, but they are slow and small. The China collapse has begun depending upon what the Allies do next.

Yesterday, I forgot to mention, B29s dropped aerial mines at Fusan, Shimoneski, and along the Yangtze River. Not very nice.[:-]

120 days of total destruction. Once my fighters were worn out...kiss the baby goodnight.[8D]

In an old job I used to do sales calls at Kawasaki Heavy in Gifu and Mitsubishi Heavy in Nagoya. That's a big chunk of industry at stake there in Nagoya. Has the loss of industry in the Home Islands been noticeable?

Cheers,

Nagoya is heavily bombarded, now the Allies are up to two TF doing faux invasions.

No aerial bombing.

Early in the game, listening to Obvert, I replaced the Captains on my larger tankers. This Tonan Whaler Captain has a 74 Naval rating.[X(]

I am still shipping fuel all over, don't really need to, but it feels like the right thing to do.[:)]
