I got to overconfident. I added the HQ to the attack on Harbin since that might the attack 7 to 1. And when it did I was so sure of success that I thought that USSR might liberate Manchuria this turn. Then, of course, the dreaded one shattered my dreams faster than I could say curses.

The Italian HQ support failed so the end for the Italian resistance was here. My spirits soared since I have 5 to 1 with a +1 on the die. I simply can not fail twice in a row... right!
At least I can take some comfort in that the Italians had no where to retreat so they were destroyed instead.

Time to call this to a halt. All Japanese in China surrounded and out of supply, Soviets about to enter southern Poland and Italy have no fleet left.
Well done Orm!

Yes, well done Orm.
Hope to see another AAR, either joint or against other opponents soon.

Thank you both.
Allies was nowhere close to winning this game, although it was only a question of time. And time they had plenty.

It would be nice if you posted the end of game position so that we could download it to look at.
(Alternatively, post some end of game screen shots, but that is a lot more work.)
Thank you.

Here's a picture of the Western Front. Stalemate - except strat bombing pending the US piling in - although the French and British could probably start on their own soon.

And here is Italy sans her fleet. I don't know about Mare Nostrum, but sea-bed-nostrum certainly fits the bill...

Malta already gearing up for Paratrooper possibilities. The mainland would not be long in joining Libya in the conquered camp.

In the east things look bad for Antonescu (you've backed the wrong horse mate)... while in southern Polandsville there is nothing to stop the Soviets from walking in.

In the north Army Group Vistula under Heinrich Himmler was massing in Warsaw and envrions for a major offensive to take Moscow in a huge sweep....and they would have gotten away with it too if it hadn't been for those pesky kids...

In Central China WIF was abandoned in favour of a new game - "Spot the Japanese Army" - sort of like "Where's Wally" except Wally actually exists....
P.S He's hiding in the mountains north of Tungkwan... Er Wally that is, not the Japanese Army...

In Southern China the Japanese had got themselves into the stickiest situation since sticky the stick insect got stuck on a sticky bun.... supply was er... a little bit of an issue.

I'm not sure on US Entry (I will let Orm comment on that if he wishes) but the Victory situation was certainly looking sub-optimal for the Axis.

Obviously resources were at a premium for the Axis and lessening with each turn. The Italians had given up rebuilding/repairing the navy and the Germans were just trying to put every available land and air unit that they could on the board.

Opps forgot Manchukuououououo. Following the time honoured tradition of not wanting to lose face by admitting the plan is crap, General Terauchi orders attack repeatedly..... Looking at this picture I don't think the plan worked....

Thank you, warspite1. It is nice to begin the morning with tea and a good laugh. Although keeping the tea down was somewhat difficult. [:D]

It looks like WW I in France. Terrible position for Germany to be in: "Der Krieg ist verloren". I wonder how much time remains for the Kaiser to stay in charge in Berlin...
