Where Are My Guns?

Post by guytipton41 »

Hi Folks,

Playing a GC PBEM Scenario 006 December 8: The Full Campaign. And it looks like all the Japanese Air Defense units are missing their 88mm guns. Is this something wrong with the scenario or is it me?

Cheers,
Guy

Click on the "Show unit TOE" (table of establishment and equipment) button at the bottom of the unit screen to see what devices that unit is entitled to receive.

Then go to the Intel Report and click on the hypertext on the right side that says something like "troops/equipment resources" and find the devices that unit is supposed to have. Check if there are any in the pool and when/how many are being produced.

If there are a lot of units that need the same device type and all of them are set to "Replacements on" it can take a while before a unit starts to get some.

Hi BB,

On the first picture the weapon name is blank even though the unit has eight of them. If it's just the display name and the 88mm still works against those nasty B-24s that's not a big issue. It does cast suspicion the Scenario 006 database.

Guy

Looks like a database error.

device 1486 is missing in scenario 6 and some other ones (4,5, maybe more)
scen 4 lacks 1483 and 1486 but has 1484/85 in 1477/78
WitE dev team - (aircraft data)
WitE 1.08+ dev team (data/scenario maintainer)
WitW dev team (aircraft data, partial data/scenario maintainer)
WitE2 dev team (aircraft data)

Hi Denniss,

Thanx for the info. Are those the only known database errors for Scenario 6?

And... Is there anything to be done about this if we are already a month into the new game?

We had this problem in our game (scen 6). Upgrading to the Andy Mac versions fixed it I think. We were able to upgrade mid game.

Hi Tiemanj,

Cool! Ok, where do I find these fabled Andy Mac scenario files? And is the upgrade just copying them in? I'll bet we can figure out how to do that!
